This article analyze the Juan José Nieto's romance Ingérmina o la hija de Calamar, into discussion about historic romance of XIX siècle as a proposal of constructing a nation. It is asked about the place of relation between Eros and Polis, as a characteristic of historic romance in searching of the union that means the consolidation of a national project.
