Abstract

CERVIO, Ana Lucía. Food policy, poverty and emotions in Argentina in the 1980s. Entramado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.1, pp.62-77. ISSN 1900-3803.  https://doi.org/10.18041/1900-3803/entramado.1.5141.

The objective of this article is to investigate the sensitivities framework involved in social policies. In particular; we analyze the National Food Program (PAN), implemented in the 1980s in Argentina to address the food deficits inherited from the dictatorship. From a sociology of bodies / emotions, we propose certain connections between food assistance, poverty and emotions, reconstructed based on the qualitative analysis of interviews with PAN beneficiaries from Cordoba City As a conclusion, two analytical nodes are developed that make it possible to understand the crosses between food, poverty and social policies from the perspective of the beneficiary subjects: a) persistence of hunger and b) the palate of the poor

Keywords : Social policy; food programs; poverty emotions; sensitivities.
