Abstract

This article presents some conceptual elements abount the formation of the STS studies and especially of two traditions that gave rise to their most representative academic proposals. One of them, focuses on a social explanation of the nature of science and technology based on research programs and, constitutes the primary objective of this article. Our purpose is oriented towards a concise discussion of the postulates of this tradition, aiming at promoting the study of STS approaches.
