CUELLAR RIOS, Isabel C.; MEJIA CORTES, Maddy; SUAREZ DURAN, Laura Paola  and  CASTELLANOS MOLINA, Verónica. Paraqueratosis Granular: A Case Report. Univ. Med. [online]. 2021, vol.62, n.1, pp.123-126.  Epub Jan 15, 2021. ISSN 0041-9095.  https://doi.org/10.11144/javeriana.umed62-1.para.

Granular parakeratosis is an infrequent pathology, which etiology and pathophysiology are not well known. Here we present the clinical case of a woman with characteristic lesions that involved different body segments (neck, inguinal regions and cubital folds), along with the evolution after the initial treatment with skin care and the suspension of chemical and physical irritants, with complete resolution of the symptoms. The case is presented along with a literature background about the current knowledge of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and therapeutic options.

Keywords : parakeratosis; diagnosis; keratins.
