Abstract

PACHECO-MACHADO, Amanda. The little prince and the little executive: considerations about contemporary childhood. CES Psicol [online]. 2017, vol.10, n.2, pp.116-125. ISSN 2011-3080.  https://doi.org/10.21615/cesp.10.2.7.

In the course of history, childhood has acquired different conceptions according to each time. It is noticed that today, children have to face high demands and the time granted to play is short. Through a critical review of the literature, this paper proposes to reflect about the childhood experience at the present time. For this, it was necessary to dip into the history and psychoanalysis contributions, and also the movie The little prince was chosen as a trigger. It is considered that the recognition of childhood as a distinct stage of life does not mean to the recognition of the specific condition of the child. In this way, an urgent appeal of taking a careful look at children was highlighted, in order to allow them to live and experience the potential of their childhood.
