Abstract

MARTINEZ-GIRALDO, Claudia. THE PLACE OF EMOTIONS IN THE FAMILY SOCIALIZATION MEDIATED BY ICTs: AN EXPERIENCE THAT TRANSITS BETWEEN GUILT, FEAR AND ANGUISH IN PARENTS. Rev. eleuthera [online]. 2018, vol.18, pp.133-149. ISSN 2011-4532.  https://doi.org/10.17151/eleu.2018.18.8.

Objective.

The main goal is to present the results of a research carried out between the years 2015-2017 with 4 to 6 years old children and their families from the city of Manizales. The topic was family socialization mediated by ICTs in early childhood. This article focuses on placing emotions in the processes of family socialization in interaction with technologies.

Methodology.

The hermeneutic method was used as a relevant option to the epistemological perspective of symbolic interactionism, which was the basis of the study.

Results.

Family socialization mediated by ICTs activates the experience of emotions, and how they emerge and move in adults responsible for accompanying upbringing.

Conclusions.

Fear, anguish and guilt, particularly the latter, are anchored to a hegemonic, feminized and mother-oriented discourse of family care. Similarly, these feelings have a close relationship with the parental educational style practiced.

Keywords : family socialization; early childhood; ICTs; emotions.
