Abstract

CARDONA-CARDONA, Ángela Maritza  and  SANCHEZ-AGUDELO, Paula Vanessa. Narratives of the Colombian armed conflict in the school setting. State of the art. Rev. eleuthera [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.2, pp.233-254.  Epub Feb 15, 2022. ISSN 2011-4532.  https://doi.org/10.17151/eleu.2021.23.2.12.

Objective:

to present the thematic research that has been carried out on the subject of the narratives of the Colombian armed conflict in the school setting.

Methodology:

The content analysis method was used.

Results:

The results show research trends in relation to the theoretical perspective of the narrative approach: the world we inhabit is shaped by stories. Another trend is the role of the school setting in the transmission of history, the different challenges and dilemmas that are presented in relation to the question, what does history teach? and the voices of young people, which show different ways of understanding the armed conflict, voices that challenge the dominant versions and voices that reproduce dominant narratives characterized by the stereotype “fear”. The important role of technology and the media in the construction of narratives is recognized.

Conclusion:

Several challenges are taken into account: the challenge that the school has in articulating other voices in the school setting; the need to transform the fragmentary visions that exist about the country in relation to who has and who has not been directly affected by the conflict; and finally to continue researching the narratives that are built from the media.
