Abstract

SOTO SANCHEZ, Pilar. The Anthropocentric Landscape. Image and Matter of Creation and Awareness. Pensam. palabra obra [online]. 2020, n.23, pp.60-71.  Epub May 09, 2021. ISSN 2011-804X.  https://doi.org/10.17227/ppo.num23-10467.

In the worldview of a capitalist and anthropocentric society, the landscape is both a territory to own and a consumable image, therefore it houses codes and traces of our activity on it. Under this prism, the landscape becomes the window that shows us the relationships we have had and have on it, a real indicator that alerts us to the changes resulting from our actions. It is an open wound that talks about past, present and future. The landscape, for this same reason, is in turn capable of becoming a fertile territory for artistic practices of ecological awareness and it serves as a pedagogical scenario to reflect.

Keywords : art; landscape; anthropocene; ecological awareness.
