Abstract

This article aims to give an account of the progress of a Masters research which aims understand the representations about the emotions that make possible peace, since children five years-old, in three Colombian regions (Antioquia, Caldas and Valle). Is a qualitative study of comprehensive scope that seeks to understand the senses and meanings of the subjects in their own contexts, shows some theoretical categories such as: peace education, representations, emotions and peace, giving support to the problem raised. Methodological development, departed from a socio-demographic survey and an emotional questionnaire applied to each student, then applied four workshops, first workshop awareness to emotions and second culture of peace workshop; and two sizes more where with each child tree of feelings and emotions for peace, was developed using the smileys as a teaching resource which children used to represent emotions, taking into account the narrations by each student. The results raise the need to listen to the voices of the children in the building of peace, and make visible what they think, and represent emotions, were evident in the description of emotions, as well as in understanding progress and representation from the meanings, causes, consequences, temporality and emotional opposition, was continuously observed motivation and interest in activities by children.
