Resilience is the capacity that human beings have to rebuild themselves after painful or traumatic situations and emerge stronger from them; it is a process that can be trained at different times in life. Colombia does not have a validated instrument to assess resilience in minors. The objective of this study was to assess the psychometric properties of the JJ63 instrument adapted to measure resilience in school children and adolescents from Antioquia in 2018. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out for the validation of the adapted instrument. Appearance and criterion validity was evaluated by expert judgment, confirmatory factor analysis was applied and with the conserved items the global internal consistency for each domain was assessed. The odd- even reliability method was used to assess the reliability of the scale and finally cut-off points were proposed for the classification of children and adolescents according to the level of resilience. 544 students between 7 and 12 years old participated. After factor analysis, 46 of the 63 items were preserved, with these the global Cronbach's alpha was 0.875. To improve the quality of the information collected, it is recommended to apply the instrument with accompaniment, especially for children under 9 years of age. The reliability of the scale was high, the instrument with 46 questions is valid for evaluating resilience in children and adolescents from Antioquia-Colombia.
