Introduction: Longevity is a reality making it necessary to implement and / or implementation of effective evidence-based actions for the control of non-communicable chronic diseases and their risk factors. The objective of reporting the experience of the group of hypertensive and diabetic developed by nurses from the family health strategy, describing physical activity for prevention, health promotion and improved quality of life for seniors. Materials and Methods: This is an experience report of a descriptive nature, experienced by nurses in a group of hypertensive and diabetic elderly users. Survey of the records (secondary data) 2008 was held until 2012. Results: Found 320 elderly, these, seven (2.2%) were diabetic, five (1.6%) diabetic and hypertensive and fifty-two (16, 2%) hypertensives only. Resulting in sixty-four elderly (20.0%) patients with a chronic non-communicable disease. Of these 320 seniors, 224 seniors (70.0%) reported that they participated in physical activities for several reasons. Discussion and Conclusions: We can conclude that with the inclusion of physical activity as a complementary activity to medical treatment, it was noticed that there was an improvement in quality of life, health and social integration of the elderly through reports of the elderly among them: control of blood pressure, decrease muscle pain and perform activities of daily life.
