Introduction: The order is to live longer, healthier lives better. Despite increased access to information and the user of health services is still very helpless in the relationship established with the professionals. This study aimed to report the experience of nurses in identifying how is implementation of Amazonian culture in the educational practices of the elderly with the Family Health Unit in the Municipality of Benevides-PA and knowledge of these practices in Amazonian culture. Materials and Methods: This is an experience report of a descriptive nature experienced by nurses with a group of seniors in a Family Health Unit. Results: professionals respect their Amazonian culture through conversation, speaking of the older, religious and community spaces for the transmission of knowledge. Discussion and Conclusions: The Amazonian culture and educational practices are present in the lives of seniors in their family and community environments, being taken into consideration by nurses.
