Abstract

PALACIO TAMAYO, Dolly Cristina. Water and Collaboration, Less Common Than They Seem. Lessons Learned in the Southern Border of Bogotá. Trab. soc. [online]. 2022, vol.24, n.2, pp.29-60.  Epub Feb 22, 2023. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v24n2.98845.

Based on an experience of collaborative research for water management in the urban-rural border of southern Bogota, we share some several lessons learned from a network of practice, to make notes on the notion of 'governance of the commons' that goes beyond the definition of water as a common good, to propose a perspective in which water is the guiding thread of a social worker's practice as a mediator of a process of activation of ecological awareness with groups that collaborate, from a relational ethic, which is nourished by principles such as affection, solidarity, reciprocity, trust, and care for the other, as a route to the sustainability of life.

Keywords : Bogota; common waters; collaborative experiences; relational ontologies and ethics; urban-rural borders; Bogotá.
