Abstract

BERNAL MORA., Martha Isabel. State of the art on urbanization on the edges of cities. "A review from the history of the popular habitat of southern Bogotá". Rev. Ciudades Estados Política [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.3, pp.131-146.  Epub June 21, 2022. ISSN 2462-9103.

This review focuses on the phenomenon of urban sprawl on the edges of cities. It seeks to understand the territorial dynamics presented there from a bibliographical review covering the planetary scale and the Latin American region; it focuses on the Colombian reality, specifically in the town of Usme, south of Bogotá. There is a mixture of land use, impact on ecosystems, and the juxtaposition of social, political, cultural, economic, and environmental aspects in these spaces.

Keywords : borders; urban sprawl; Bogotá; urbanization; land use.
