Abstract

PADIN, Juan Manuel. Customs Duties as a Commercial Protection Tool. Restrictions and Alternatives to Reconsider the Case of Argentina. Ens. Econ. [online]. 2019, vol.29, n.54, pp.115-136. ISSN 0121-117X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ede.v29n54.75883.

The use of Customs duties as a tool to protect the trade seemed to have been forgotten after the global liberalization imposed since 1970. However, they still are relevant, especially in developing countries. Taking this into consideration, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the restrictions implemented and alternatives chosen in the Argentine foreign trade policy to apply the Customs duties according to the multilateral agreements in force and to consider the impact that other international trade agreements have on said duties.
