The fundamental objective of this article is to analyze the relationship between international migration and development, from the viewpoint of transnationalism as one of the main theories currently used to explain the migratory phenomenon. Considering this, the initial discussion refers to the main theories that explain migration, focusing on their relation to development. Secondly, it analyzes transnationalism, mainly from a geographic perspective, while in the last part, it considers some transnational economic practices that help to understand the relationship between migration and development. Finally, it highlights the main contributions of transnationalism are highlighted, specifically in terms of transnational economic practices.
