Abstract

ARISTIZABAL GARCIA, Diana Marcela. Social Studies on Consumption. Disciplinary Trajectories of a Field of Study under Construction. rev.estud.soc. [online]. 2020, n.71, pp.87-99. ISSN 0123-885X.  https://doi.org/10.7440/res71.2020.07.

The article presents a theoretical and historiographical review of consumption as a transversal category of social sciences. It traces the questions, the debates and the main lines of research that have differentially consolidated from each disciplinary field and that have nourished the discussions of this emerging field of study. Thus, it reveals how social reflections on consumption are the result of interdisciplinary loans, connected debates and shared discussions that have allowed researchers to broaden their perspectives of analysis.

Keywords : Consumption; historiography; social studies of consumption.
