DONCEL DE LA COLINA, Juan Antonio y LARA RAMIREZ, Alma Adriana. Social Construction of the Migrant Subject and Organizational Logic in the “Migrant Shelters” of the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (Nuevo León, Mexico). rev.estud.soc. The trends in flows of migrants without administrative status lead us to question the social construction of the notion of the migrant subject. Specifically, in this article, we propose an exploration of the relationship between the conceptualization of the migrant subject and the shaping of an organizational logic of the migrants' houses in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (Nuevo León, Mexico). Using a qualitative methodology, through interviews with the people in charge of these shelters, we take the first steps towards a long-term structural analysis. This analysis begins by positing a dichotomous conception of the “authentic” versus the “false” migrant, which serves to filter access to and organize daily life in them.
