JURADO-GAMEZ,, HENRY; ZAMBRANO-MORA,, EDWARD y FAJARDO-ARGOTI,, CATALINA. Addition of Lactobacillus plantarum microencapsulated on intestinal, inmune, productive parameters and bloody biochmistry in chickens. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2021, vol.19, n.1, pp.217-229. ISSN 1692-3561. https://doi.org/10.18684/bsaa(19)217-229.
The poultry sector has health problems that decrease its productivity, so the objective was to evaluate the effect of microencapsulated L. plantarum in broilers. The characteristics of the microencapsulation (viability, efficiency and physical variables), the productive parameters (dry matter consumption, weight gain and food conversion), biochemicals (cholesterol, triglycerides and total proteins) and histopathological in birds undergoing four treatments were evaluated; two witnesses (without commercial probiotic and probiotic) and two with supply of L. plantarum (with and without microencapsular). The results showed that the strain has adequate growth to different gastrointestinal conditions in vitro, which gives it advantages to cross the gastrointestinal tract. On the other hand, the results for the in vivo study showed that the supply of lactic bacteria have positive effects on the productive parameters, although no comparison was made with other studies due to the particular conditions of the investigation. An increase in cholesterol and triglyceride levels was observed with the supply of the probiotic strain, as well as an increase in histopathological lesions. Microencapsulated L. plantarum has potential as a probiotic additive in the poultry sector, although research on the amount of inoculum to be supplied should be improved
