SALINAS, Alejandra M. The Rectification of Injustice in Nozick: Debates and Implications for Indian Land Claims. Co-herencia [online]. 2012, vol.9, n.16, pp.119-144. ISSN 1794-5887.
Robert Nozick formulates the principle of rectification of historical injustices, and advocates the possibility of income redistribution in the service of that principle. In the framework of his political theory, I first examine here the concept of rectification as well as some of its critiques. Secondly, I address the implications of the principle of rectification for indian land claims. I argue that the principle does not require a redistributive model, and that a proposal more compatible with a respect for Nozickean property rights would be the allocation of fiscal land or property to the native peoples.
