ESCOBAR MOYANO., Carlos Andrés. Structural Constants of Paramilitary Territorialization in the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá (2009-2016). Rev. Ciudades Estados Política [online]. 2021, vol.8, n.2, pp.105-120. Epub 13-Mayo-2022. ISSN 2462-9103.
On account of the demobilization process of the paramilitary group Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) between 2003 and 2006, new armed actors under the same nature have positioned themself on the national territory by establishing their political project and by controlling and coapting illegal economies. Bogota's city will not be the exception to the rule due to its geostrategic character for which it has been a disputed territory and therefor the new paramilitary groups have defined intentions and mechanisms for a territorial intervention. Hence the purpose of this research article is to analyze the territoriality exercised by the remaining paramilitary groups of the demobilization process for the AUC in Bogota's metropolitan area from 2009 to 2016 as a result of the asymmetrisation of the armed conflict on the city. Within the findings of this investigation, it was possible to identify the main territorial control strategies, mechanisms and tools as well as represent geographical and historical processes of the consolidation of the paramilitary project in the city and its metropolitan area
