Resumen

Describe the therapeutic management of hepatic lipidosis in an infected feline Mycoplasma haemofelis and evaluation of therapeutic effectiveness in Colombia. A female cat, 1year old, breed Balinese, It has a fever, jaundice, lethargy, anorexia, lymphopenia and anemia hypochromic normocytic. Feline ultrasound showed hepatomegaly and liver changes echotexture, also values of liver enzymes. It was diagnosed with presence of Mycoplasma haemofelis, through direct smear. The cat was treated with doxycycline 10 mg/kg PO, every 24 hours, omeprazole 0.5 mg/kg for 30 days, dipyrone 28 mg/kg every 12 hours to control fever, metadoxine 10 mg/kg IV, every 12 hours for 30 days, oxipurina and orotic acid at doses of 4 mg/kg IM every 12 hours for 1 week and silymarin 50 mg/kg orally PO every 12 hours for 30 days. The patient after 20 days of treatment with doxycycline, metadoxine and silymarin, presented showedimprovement and recovered from hepatic lipidosis and was negative for the presence of Mycoplasma haemofelis, this case is described as being hepatic lipidosis other alterations to consider in mycoplasma infection in feline species and its therapeutic management.
