Abstract The project about "Copyright in the university scope. Effectiveness of the transfer of copyright in legal-academic relations between students, teachers, university and business. (Hermeneutical analysis based on the modifications introduced to Law 23 of 1982 by Law 1450 of 2011)", a research group of the "Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga". It was developed after a review of national legislation, supranational law and doctrine, and it referred in addition to the conceptualization, to the possible problems and questions that this topic and its interpretation could raise among the people involved and practical University management. As a result of the research, the lack of knowledge in this area and inadequate management that some Higher Education Institutions - HEI give to the subject, justifies the importance of writing this document of reflection, the handling and interpretation of copyright in the University, with special reference to their transfer. It is mainly addressed not only to Private Universities, but also encompassing the general public, university community, lawyers, companies, and other persons interested in this field, who have direct or indirect contact with the academy and its intellectual production. It provides specialized and clear information, with a view to publicizing and encouraging respect for the proper management of copyright.
