The result of linear regression analysis showed that the use of channels of communication verbal, no-verbal and the avoidance of communication barriers, as well as high levels of intrinsic motivation and enjoyment during the practice, predicted a future commitment of the participants. In this way, the use of effective communication strategies by the fitness monitor during the interaction with practitioners would increase the motivation of individuals allowing a greater adherence to practice.
