This article presents the GITICIE methodology (Management and integration of ICT in educational institutions) developed through a process of action research carried out between 2010 and 2012 with the participation of teachers in the Technology area from 14 public educational institutions in Montería, Colombia. The methodology is based on seven ICT axes and it proposes five moments, that start with the awareness about the benefits of integrating ICT. Subsequently, it develops a characterization of institutional needs, which support ICT Improvement Planning that is designed and implemented by the educational community, responsible of monitoring, assessment and adjustments of the repetitive actions to achieve optimal results. In these institutions, a transformation in the dynamics of ICT integration process was observed, obtaining as a result the development of GITIC institutional projects as axes guidelines of the integration, that are empowered by management empowering groups.
