For the oil industry, it is important to understand the origin, migration, accumulation, and alteration of the hydrocarbons present in the Upper Magdalena Valley Basin (VSM) and potentiate existing reserves and strengthen exploration projects. The physicochemical variables of the analyzed fluid inclusions were identified, determining the homogenization temperature, melting temperature and salinity of the fluid at the time of its entrapment, which provide evolutionary evidence of the sedimentary basin. According to the results obtained, salinities between 22.74% to 25.51% eq. wt NaCl, calculated thanks to the melting temperatures that fluctuate between -24.5°C and -20.3°C and the homogenization temperatures between 130.2°C - 150°C, which indicate that, at the moment of entrapment, the rocks were in the window for the generation of wet gases and medium-light hydrocarbons of great importance for the country's energy transition.
