Introduction. Longitudinal character studies on changing the nutritional status and dietary habits in the university population are scarce. Ojective. To determine changes in terms of nutritional status and dietary habits in students of Medicine during their stay at the university. Materials and Methods. A comparative descriptive study was conducted in undergraduate students who underwent monitoring of their nutritional status and food consumption during their stay at the university. The sample was intentional. Weight, height, and waist circumference were recorded and a survey was conducted to determine food consumption frequency. Results. No significant change was observed in size but an increase in weight average in both men and women was observed. Almost all students had their three main meals and about half of them omitted snack breaks. Increased daily consumption of milk and dairy products, meat and fruit juices, was observed, while there was a lower intake of fruits and vegetables. Fast food daily consumption decreased, while fried food intake increased. Conclusion. Changes in nutritional status and eating habits of some students are evident.
