ARAUJO, Érica de Oliveira; TADEU VITORINO, Antonio Carlos  y  MARTINS MERCANTE, Fábio. Rates of nitrogen and inoculation of Herbaspirillum seropedicae in corn culture in conditions of fertile soil. Acta Agron. [online]. 2016, vol.65, n.1, pp.16-23. ISSN 0120-2812.  https://doi.org/10.15446/acag.v65n1.44300.

Biological nitrogen fixation (FBN) plants can be a technological approach useful to increase the production of Gramines since some microorganisms, among which the genus Herbaspirillum present potential for FBN and production of substances that promote growth. Thus, the objective of this work to evaluate in terms of fertile soil, maize (Zea mays L.). Agronomic performance in function of the inoculation of seeds with Herbaspirillum seropedicae, under different nitrogen levels. The experimental design used was randomized blocks with five repetitions, arranged in factorial 2x5, that corresponds to absence and presence of Herbaspirillum seropedicae with inoculation and five nitrogen rates (0, 48, 72, 96 and 120 kg/ha). The parameters evaluated were: spike insertion height, diameter of stem, mass of spike, spike length, number of rows of grains per spike, number of grains per spike, spike base diameter, weight of one thousand grains, dry mass of the shoot, productivity, chlorophyll content and N content the leaves of corn. The conclusion that corn plants, even in fertile soil, responds to the application of nitrogen to height of insertion of cob, Cob mass, spike length, number of grains per spike, mass of dry air mass part of thousand grains, productivity, chlorophyll content and nitrogen content in the leaves of maize, being that such conditions, inoculation of Herbaspirillum seropedicae did not influence any of the variables studied

Palabras clave : Zea mays L; biological nitrogen fixation; inoculants.
