BAQUERO-MELO, JAIRO. PERIPHERIES OF THE PERIPHERIES: TERRITORIALIZATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE REINCORPORATION OF THE PEACE AGREEMENT SIGNATORIES IN GAITANIA, COLOMBIA. Maguare [online]. 2022, vol.36, n.2, pp.51-87. Epub 23-Dic-2022. ISSN 0120-3045. https://doi.org/10.15446/mag.v36n2.102861.
This article analyzes the role of territorialization and infrastructure in reincorporation processes in Colombia. I study individual and social reincorporation experiences in the ETCR (Territorial Training and Reincorporation Space) at El Oso (Gaitania, Tolima, Colombia), its surrounding regi15 on, and the places inhabited by Peace Agreement signatories and their families. I explore the so-called "productive projects" as well. The region, historically transformed by central elites into marginal and peripheral territory, has been disputed by armed groups and political parties. Prompted by the Peace Agreement, the associations of coffee producers and signatories of the Peace Agreement, in search of social and economic insertion, have created emerging territorialities which intertwine with multi-scalar processes. Reincorporation faces problems such as poor roads, limited access to land, physical insecurity, food insecurity, and legal uncertainty.
