ARIAS PEREZ, José Enrique y ARISTIZABAL BOTERO, Carlos Andrés. Influence of organizational structure on the creation of knowledge: study of EPM Medellín case. Semest. Econ. [online]. 2008, vol.11, n.22, pp.161-184. ISSN 0120-6346.
The objective of this article is to determine how the organizational dimension offers the conditions for creating knowledge in EPM (Empresas Públicas de Medellin). Case study methodology was used, based on complementation of quantitative and qualitative approach, using the structure questionnaire and the discussion group as strategies for collecting information among employees involved in knowledge management in the institution. In relation to the results, it is evident that informal networks and project teams have a positive effect on socialization and exteriorization, and the bureaucratic level has this positive effect on combination and mastering of knowledge, although its capture and articulation with the organization is more efficient when it comes from the project teams.
