Resumen
COMBARIZA G., Juliana y ARANDA C., Yesid. Consumption trend survey of the rural tourism services offered by the Province of Tequendama, Cundinamarca (Colombia), through the tourism agencies of Bogotá . Agron. colomb. [online]. 2009, vol.27, n.1, pp.121-128. ISSN 0120-9965.
Based on information supplied by local tourism agencies, a preliminary survey on the medium-consumption segment of rural tourism services was carried out. The consulted agencies were those operating in Bogotá that had been registered in the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry in 2007. The consumption trends and market segments preferred by Bogotan tourists making use of such services through this commercial channel were identified. The rural tourism service development potential of the province of Tequendama was explored, and the factors that need to be managed for the region to consolidate as an inland tourist destiny were identified. It is concluded that rural tourism is a feasible economic alternative for the region. This, in the framework of Rural Territorial Development, allows reaffirming concepts such as Regional Multi-Functionality and Multiple Regional Activities, therefore constituting a good means to promote local and territorial development.
