This research article presents some approaches to the context in which the duty of memory takes place in Colombia, on account of the promulgation of The Victims and Land Restitution Law within which other politics of remembrance that affect society as a whole and the educational and cultural field took shape. It also presents a reflection on the role of education, the ethical question of memory and the necessary reconstruction of the social bond, when it comes to public awareness of the moral damage caused to the victims by the effect of the degraded and prolonged war that has taken place in the framework of armed conflict.
