Resumen

MONCADA GUEVARA, María Camila. DISCURSIVE FRAMES FOR THE DECRIMINALIZATION OF ABORTION DURING THE 2018 GREEN TIDE IN ARGENTINA. ANALYSIS OF THE HASHTAG #ABORTOLEGALYA. anal.polit. [online]. 2023, vol.36, n.106, pp.5-30.  Epub 14-Oct-2023. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v36n106.110977.

This article aims to analyze the discursive frames circulating on Twitter for the liberalization of abortion in Argentina. The theoretical tools of framing used in social movement literature were implemented. Specifically, the paper presents a study of the digital campaign carried out by the Campaña Nacional por el Aborto Legal, Seguro y Gratuito en Argentina (National Campaign for Legal, Safe and Free Abortion in Argentina) between February and August 2018. The social network and discursive content analysis method was applied to the hashtag #AbortoLegalYa. The article concludes that the use of social networks has allowed the accelerated construction of a discursive regional and public space, from which representations about abortion are disseminated in the framework of human rights (HR) and gender approach to position shared meanings about abortion, build a collective identity of the movement, and establish possibilities for normative transformation.
