Resumen

FRANCO SIERRA, Andrea  y  CARDONA-ARANGO, Doris. Factors associated to the quality of life in patients with cardiovascular disease in a pharmacotherapy monitoring program. Revista médica Risaralda [online]. 2017, vol.23, n.1, pp.30-33. ISSN 0122-0667.

Estimating the factors associated the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular disease problems (CVD), in a monitoring pharmacotherapy program. Methods. A quantitative study was conducted, focusing an empirical analytical method, for a cross-sectional observational analytic study. The studied population included 42 patients with CVD belonging to Pharmaceutical Care Program of Dempos S.A, who had received pharmacotherapy from June 2013 to June 2014; for measuring quality of life questionnaire SF-36 V.2 translated and validated to Spanish was used, and applied by telephone interviews during September 2014. Sociodemographic and clinical variables were included, with this information we proceeded to perform univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Results. 50% of the evaluated patients were older than 76 years of age (Rq: 23), 22 (52.4%) of whom were women. Hypertension was the disease that primarily affected patients (95.2%), ischemic heart disease being the most common in the studied population (71.4%). 134 problems related with the use of medication (PRUM) (73.2%), and 49 with the drugs (DRPs) (26.8%). 54.8% of patients had good quality of life (> 50 SF-36) and 45.2% poor quality of life (SF-36 <50). Association between quality of life and the salary range was found, while diabetic patients were less likely to have poor quality of life than non-diabetics. Conclusions. We show that there is an association between the deterioration in the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular disease with a low salary range. There is predominat problem in these patients with the use drug or medication, and it represents a bigger proportion of the problems with the negative results in the pharmacotherapy
