Resumen

MATEUS-FERRO, Geral Eduardo; CASTIBLANCO, Laura Marcela  y  ALVAREZ-BERMUDEZ, Pedro Augusto. Logical and Analogical Mechanisms in the Production of Available Lexicon. Folios [online]. 2018, n.47, pp.133-152. ISSN 0123-4870.

This paper presents the results of an investigation seeking to validate a typology of mechanisms underlying the lexicon availability of Bogota students in 9 interest centers (IC) (Animals, Human Body, Clothing, Furniture, School and school supplies, Kitchen, Jobs and professions, Games and hobbies, and Country and garden works) selected for their Lexical Cohesion Index (LCI). The data of 864 surveys conducted as part of the Available Lexicon Project was analyzed, identifying the cognitive mechanisms in each IC, according to whether they were logical or analogical. To this end, the graphs and the groups of the semantic networks of the IC were studied. In addition, the article examines the distribution of mechanisms according to type of IC (compact, medium or diffuse match), based on the LCI. The main theoretical result is a typology of mechanisms (TM v2) that includes two main types: logical and analog, with a development of more specific categories. The second general result reveals the predominance of analog mechanisms over logical ones.
