Objective: This research paper aims to identify the presence of Burnout syndrome and the coping strategies used in order to assess the Burnout syndrome approach and different strategies devel oped in a group of security guards. Method: This research was conducted through a descriptive and correlational analysis. 113 security guards were sampled and answered the Maslach Burnout Inverntory General Survey (MBI-GS) (a.72) and the Modified Coping Strategies Scale (a.84). Re sults: The findings show very high levels of professional effectiveness (78,8 %), and high ones (9.7 %); about emotional exhaustion, average level (80,6 %) and high ones (10,6 %) are shown; and finally, about cynicism, there are average (79,6 %) and high (20,4 %) levels. The most used coping strategy is expression of coping difficulty. Meaningful relationships (p < 0.001, p < 0.005) between the different dimensions of the syndrome and the aggressive reaction strategy, problem solving, coping difficulty expression, and positive revaluation were evidenced.
