Oligoneuria Pictet, 1843 is a genus that belongs to the family Oligoneuriidae and is characterized by the venation of its sparse wings and atrophied legs. The present study documents for the first time the presence of Oligoneuria (Oligoneurioides) amazonica in Colombia, based on an adult specimen collected in the Bita River, Orinoco Basin, in the department of Vichada. This record extends the distribution range of this species to the Colombian Orinoquia.
