The journal Civilizar Ciencias Sociales y Humanas continues with its transformation and improvement process, committed to the purpose of becoming a high-quality scientific publication.
Our current concern is the attention to paper content and editorial quality as well as knowledge management processes. Improvements include standardization of documents, formats and style. The number of peers reviewing documents, and of international participant researchers, has increased. In the current issue we have contributors from Uruguay, Chile and Puerto Rico. Additionally, some Colombian participants sent their research from Germany, Brazil and Spain. Thus, we widen the insights into our field of interest, improve quality and secure the journal's continuity.
Another area of improvement is accessibility and visibility. The electronic edition's website is undergoing a change and the journal will be included in Redalyc, the Latin America and the Caribbean, Portugal and Spain network of scientific journals; a database oriented, as it is our case, toward Social Sciences. Regarding other open access resources, we are exploring the Open Journal System, OJS, developed by the Public Knowledge Project supported by the University of British Columbia and the Simon Fraser University from Canada and Stanford University from the United States. This system favors a more dynamic management of editorial practice and better contact with peers, increasing information flows and, consequently, knowledge flows. We have entered the road of professional editing!
