Resumen

MUNOZM, DEYANIRA; CUATIN I, MILTON FERNANDO  y  PANTOJA M., ALVARO JAVIER. ENERGETIC POTENTIAL OF AGROINDUSTRIAL RESIDUES OF THE DEPARTMENT CAUCA, FROM THE CALORIFIC LOWER VALUE. Rev.Bio.Agro [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.2, pp.156-163. ISSN 1692-3561.

The energy values of agroindustrial residues of Cauca region were determined by calorific analysis, technical data reported in the statistical tables of the Statistical Yearbook of Agriculture and Fisheries Sector in 2011 and with the simple expressions presented in Antolín G.G.'s methodology for the calculation of energetic variables. The calorific values obtainedin dry base were: 116187,97 kJ/kg for sugarcane bagasse, 15419,95 kJ/kg for cabuya dust and 15262,18 kJ/kg of yucca bran. The average value of the mixtures was 15623,35kJ/kg. Concluded that 15623,35kJ/kg is the average energy that can be released in a combustion process with these residues and are comparable to the energy released by other sources of biomass. The energetic potential of sugar cane bagasse with a value of 163,45TJ /year, which contributes 35,73% of the energy, offers great advantages in comparison with the amount of yucca bran that has 0,91TJ/year a potential. The mixture with best energetic characteristic is composed by 33,3% sugarcane bagasse, 33,3% dust cabuya and 33,3% yucca bran and has an energetic potential of 48,39TJ/year
