Resumen

DURAN-APONTE, Emilse  y  PUJOL, Lydia. Time management in young people starting academic studies at the Simón Bolívar University. Rev.latinoam.cienc.soc.niñez juv [online]. 2013, vol.11, n.1, pp.93-108. ISSN 1692-715X.

The research objective was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Time Management Behavior Questionary (TMBQ) and to describe the profile of time management in young Venezuelans newly commencing studies at Simon Bolivar University. 209 university students, aged between 17 and 20 years, participated from 10 different higher-technical level courses. Psychometric studies support the structure of the instrument. The results suggest high scores on ‘perceived control' dimensions and ‘setting goals and priorities'. This may be indicative of a suitable time management profile associated with conscious, rational behavior by the young student, consistent with entering a stage of maturity and development in the face of increasingly complex academic challenges.

Palabras clave : validity; reliability; university transition.
