This research examines the historical conditions that determine the actions, impact and participation of public preschool teachers in Colombia‘s national pedagogical movement. Using a qualitative approach the article highlights that public preschool teachers were excluded from some aspects of the historical construction of education in the country. These include not being mentioned in official language and texts or excluded in the actions that have been carried out, as well as a lack of involvement in publications, events and conferences that have been held. This has resulted in public preschool teachers having an imperceptible level of action and intervention in the Colombian pedagogical movement. Through this exploration the author examines specific moments in the history of education in Colombia with the objective of creating a different status and improved level of recognition of public preschool teachers‘ role in this political mobilization, as well as highlighting the specific subjectivities that have recently been created in public schools.
