In this article our objective is to assess and analyze the academic performance of a school-age child as a result of a cognitive training of executive functions program. Method: The case study was conducted across three stages: initial evaluation, pretest with Banfe and ENI subtests. The authors identified the pre-existing levels of executive functions, applied the cognitive training involving Inhibitory Control, Fluency and Planning and the post-test final evaluation was conducted with the same criteria as the initial evaluation to identify the impact of cognitive training on executive functions and academic performance. Results: Cognitive training stimulated the development of executive functions, however the study fails to demonstrate a conclusive link between executive function and academic performance.
