Resumen

BUILES BRAND, Manuel Alonso. INCIDENCE OF SHEAR STRENGTH RATE FOR RESIDUAL SOILS FROM AMPHIBOLITE AT THE SAN NICOLAS VALLEY IN ANTIOQUIA STATE, COLOMBIA. Rev.EIA.Esc.Ing.Antioq [online]. 2014, n.21, pp.89-97. ISSN 1794-1237.

Residual soils by their formation process have special characteristics that are not characterized in traditional soil mechanics devoted to sedimentary soils. The weathering processes according to the cycles of exposure to those who are exposed have variations in composition and mechanical behavior. Residual soils from Amphibolite rock located in the valley of St. Nicholas, near the city of Medellin have been recovered and tested. The variation of the speed versus shear strength of the undrained shear strength was evaluated by conducting direct shear tests on undisturbed samples under Unconsolidated and Undrained conditions, soil samples were recovered using shelby thin-walled tubes, graphs of the variation of the shear strength, cohesion and friction angle versus speed and their impact on design.

Palabras clave : Residual Soil; Shear Test; Test Speed; Shear Strength.
