Resumen

ADARME JAIMES, Wilson; ARANGO SERNA, Martín Darío  y  CARDENAS, Iván Darío. LOGISTICS BEHAVIOR IN THE LAST MILE DISTRIBUTION OF ALIMENTARY PRODUCTS IN VILLAVICENCIO, COLOMBIA. Rev.EIA.Esc.Ing.Antioq [online]. 2014, n.21, pp.145-156. ISSN 1794-1237.

City logistics is a major issue as the urban centers tend to grow and consolidate economic and industrial activities with social and human traditional activities. The vast majority of the studies follow the traditional transport approach aiming to explain variables related to the transport supply instead of analyzing the actual demand. There exists a lack of understanding on the behavior of the customers and this concern is explicit in previous studies related to city logistics. In this paper with the use of primary sources of information and statistical tools we aim to provide an analysis of the main trends and behavior of the household purchases specifically the food procurement. The results obtained in a rapidly growing urban center in Colombia provides a framework to understand the behavior of household purchases based in three main variables a) products, b) vehicles and c) purchase frequency related to the type of food procurement facility.

Palabras clave : City Logistics; Urban Goods Distribution; Food; Last Mile Distribution; Household Purchases.
