Resumen

ALVAREZ, Gonzalo Ruben  y  DE SOUZA VANZ, Samile Andrea. Bibliometric indicators of institutional scientific collaboration for Brazilian research on High Energy Physics (1983-2013). Rev. Guillermo Ockham [online]. 2017, vol.15, n.2, pp.121-131.  Epub 23-Jun-2021. ISSN 1794-192X.  https://doi.org/10.21500/22563202.3275.

This paper presents a bibliometric analysis based on the institutional scientific collaboration indicators of Brazilian High Energy Physics (HEP) papers indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI) of the Web of Science (WoS) during 1983 and 2013. All publications in journals that included the category of Physics, Particles & Fields were part of the study. The data were organized and analyzed using the softwares Bibexcel, UCINET and Excel 2007. Among the 5,886 articles, 4,018 were published in inter-institutional collaboration: 1,130 were coauthored by Brazilian institutions and 2,888 were coauthored with foreign institutions. Only 1,868 articles (31.74 %) were written by a single institution, possibly representing the group that conducts theoretical research in the area. Among the 1,175 institutions which were identified, 1,021 are foreign institutions (86.89 %) and 154 are Brazilian institutions (13.11 %). The conclusion is that there is a small volume of Brazilian institutions that work in HEP and there is a strong internationalization of Brazilian research in the area. The analysis of networks reveals the existence of four clusters, according to Brazil geographical regions and demonstrates that the geographical proximity between two or more partners stimulates the collaboration.
