Resumen
SALINAS-ARIAS, Boris Alfonso. Coloniality, curriculum and interest in music education: the case of the conservatory of Tolima. Entramado [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.1, e214. Epub 13-Jun-2022. ISSN 1900-3803. https://doi.org/10.18041/1900-3803/entramado.1.7335.
It identifies and analyzes the curricular treatment given to Colombian Music in the Bachelor of Music program of the Conservatory ofTolima in the city of Ibagué - Colombia, which has among its lines of emphasis this type of music; the research is based on the Modernity - Coloniality theory in dialogue with the categories of curriculum and interest. The method is based on a case study which sought to identify the Colombian music included in the curriculum, its form of inclusion, as well as the curricular interests with which it is treated. The findings show that the inclusion of these sound practices obeys the pattern of whiteness, a technical and instrumental curricular treatment, lack of discussion and ideological questioning that would favor emancipation, as well as the existence of forms of resistance; together, these elements show that uncritical and anti-dialogical inclusion favors the perpetuation of coloniality in music education.
