Although ethno-education as a public educational policy is a recent concern, it has been important for the educational formation of ethnic-territorial communities. For this reason, this article proposes a reflection on the need to train ethno-educators, as one of the central processes of education for ethnic and cultural diversity in Colombia. Assuming ethno-education as intercultural education requires a new type of teacher, who can generate horizontal relationships and respond to the interests of communities and their territories.
