OSPINA CRUZ, Carlos. Educational reforms, institutional reforms and governmental inspection, Antioquia (1903-1930). Rev. colomb. educ. [online]. 2013, n.65, pp.341-366. ISSN 0120-3916.
In this paper we research the conditions under which teachers worked in the department of Antioquia under the national reform process of the early twentieth century in Colombia following Law 39 of 1903. We analyze the ways in which they were inspected, the wages they were paid and the social pressures to which they were subjected. To this end, we gather together some elements of inspection used in Antioquia in the early 20th century, which were intended to lead (with a certain degree of urgency) Antioquian society along the so-called path of regeneration, civilization and progress. To achieve this, education was going to be taken care of primarily by the state through Uribe's Law, as education was seen as the bastion of progress that would lead the country to civilized nation status.
