ACEVEDO-TARAZONA, Álvaro  y  CORREA-LUGOS, Andrés David. Utopian cartographies: death and redemption in Vallejo's work. Nómadas [online]. 2017, n.47, pp.109-121. ISSN 0121-7550.

The objective of this article is the reflection of the heterotopy of Medellin from the fictional novel of Fernando Vallejo, Our Lady of the Assassins, and also analyze how the novel re-examines historical and social contemporary and cultural processes. This text strives to demonstrate new forms of research in which fictional aspects are utilized to recreate, exemplify and contrast contemporary reality. At the same time, it demystifies utopias as creations of science fiction in order to include them in the explanation and mastery of fears and desires within the individual and contemporary societies.

Palabras clave : fiction; heterotopy; history; literature; utopia; violence.
