The present work investigates the factors of ideological influence in the decision of Andrés Bello (1781-1865) to project a system of "title and mode" in his Civil Code model. Through the analysis of data and primary sources related to Bello's intellectual training as a humanist, the deductive method is used to demonstrate why it decided to adopt the causal paradigm of property transfer, a model that is currently in force in most countries of the American continent.
